Andrea Zimandy, DVM

Dr. Zimandy was born and raised in South Florida, where she developed a lifelong passion for animal care through early experiences with native wildlife and zoo species. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation and her Master’s degree in Food and Resource Economics from the University of Florida before completing her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Atlantic Veterinary College.

Dr. Zimandy enjoys caring for a wide variety of species, with a strong professional focus on exotic animal medicine. Her experience includes the medical and surgical management of reptiles, birds, and exotic mammals, as well as fieldwork with native and invasive wildlife. She works closely with state agencies on wildlife research and conservation projects, volunteering her time to perform exams, diagnostic testing, and surgeries that support wildlife health. She is a member of the Association of Avian Veterinarians (AAV), Association of Reptile and Amphibian Veterinarians (ARAV), Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians (AEMV), Florida Veterinary Medical Association (FVMA), and the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA).

At home, she stays busy with her husband, two sons, and a lively household of pets which include Bo the beagle, Scout the Springer Spaniel, Hobie the cat and several species of water turtles and tortoises. In her free time, she loves boating, hiking, and enjoying the Florida sunshine by the pool.
